I attended the Chartboost Roadshow stop in Dallas last night. It was a great way to meet up with local game developers while learning the ins & outs of Chartboost. About 25-30 people showed up and Chartboost covered all the food and drinks. Thanks guys!
Chartboost Evangelist Nate Barker covered a lot ground going over the basics, from game design, monetization and marketing. The best take-away, for me, was optimization strategies for Chartboost campaigns.
Top Optimization Strategies for Chartboost
- Set up campaigns and prioritize them (slides 9-15 above). I love it when someone tells me what works and exactly how to implement it. Small devs have limited time and Chartboost has more insight than any of us, why not put it to use.
- Use the power of Direct Deals. Connect with other developers and you can advertise each other’s games for free… or at whatever rate you agree upon. Just send an email to Chartboost with your usernames and ask them to make the connection. Set up your deal… and get installs!
- Video ads are powerful. Experiment with them at the top of your priorities.
One more thing… [tweetthis]Try custom frames, Chartboost has seen them increase installs as much as 70% in some situations[/tweetthis]
I met several game developers with some pretty cool games and hope to complete some of those Direct Deals mentioned often. I have also implemented the Optimization Strategies in for all my apps and hope to see some improved payouts on my recently updated Orange is the New Black Word Search.
